Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very decent and desirable TR4A for easy improvement.  It’s currently finished in the attractive color of Royal Dark Blue but appears to have left the factory in Triumph Racing Green with a black interior, piped white, with most likely a black top. It’s fitted with 60-spoke wire wheels and would make a fantastic car restored back to it’s original color scheme.

The body on this car is very good to excellent. There’s no real evidence of accidents and the car is completely and entirely rust free, having lived here in Southern California most of its life. Panel gapping appears very good and the doors close fine, along with the trunk. The hood fit could use a little fine tuning… Paintwork is older showing some chips mostly on panel edges, but still has a decent shine on it from 10 feet. The added TR250 stripe is a nice touch.

The car’s interior could use reupholstering along with a dashboard restoration, but everything appears quite original and complete. The main floors look great with no rust. There’s still plenty of shiny original paint showing.

The car’s mechanical condition is overall very good to excellent. The engine starts first try on the key and bursts to life with good oil pressure, no smoke, and a nice exhaust note.

The following work was performed within the last few years at a garage that specializes in British cars. All invoices available are included.  Over $8,000 has been spent on the following:

The car’s underside looks really excellent with a straight frame, solid inner/outer rockers and floors, nice front and rear valances, and a nice coating of preserving oil / road dirt.

Overall, a good car to improve cosmetically. These desirable 60’s Triumph TR’s are arguably the prettiest of the bunch with their superb Italian Michelotti styling, good looks, and rugged mechanicals.
