Primrose was purchased from her original owner’s family on January 23rd, 2014. The original owner purchased her on June 23rd, 1969, and owned her for the next 45 years until the owner passed away. A file of receipts accompanied the car documenting tune-ups, oil changes, repairs, maintenance, and restoration work from the original purchase date. Extensive mechanical work was carried out in the mid-90’s, presumably to meet emission standards. This work included a full cylinder head rebuild with new valves and hardened seats for unleaded fuel conversion, a full transmission and overdrive unit rebuild, new clutch, rodded-out radiator, rebuilding of the twin carburetors, fuel tank cleaning, and fuel system overhaul, a brake system rebuild, replacement of all engine ancillaries, new rear suspension springs, front suspension bushes, new exhaust system, new oil cooler, additional electric cooling fan, full tune-up. All this work amounted to the car passing the smog check with flying colors and returning it to perfect mechanical health. It was used sparingly in the next 20 years afterward.

Recent work includes fully retrimmed seats in original black leather, with new foam and diaphragms. A new quality Robbins softtop was also fitted. The car’s interior remains amazingly original with original carpets, panel kit, arm bars, rubber floor mats, door seals, top seals, factory Kangol seat belts, etc. New 14-inch quality radial tires were fitted and balanced.
