DESCRIPTION

 
-The first batch of 1000 Austin-Healey 100’s produced had lots of early and unique production features about them which this car still retains, being body #859. Details include the early style two-piece dashboard with a detachable instrument panel, sliding spline adjustable steering wheel assembly with unique trafficator, alloy trunk and hood panels, very low front fender wheel cutouts, single solid plexiglass chrome-framed sidescreens, lack of rear reflectors, 32% overdrive unit, among other various items.
-According to this car’s early VIN number, production date is July 1953.
-This car recently discovered here lived in California at least until 1968 as evidenced by it’s black and yellow license plate. It was recently purchased from a 92-year-old lady in South Carolina who’s husband saved the car for at least the past 40 years, always planning to restore it…

-The car is quite solid throughout and has never been disassembled or largely restored. It offers it’s next avid enthusiast a chance to own, restore, and enjoy some very early Austin Healey history as this car is one of the first 1000 cars produced and retains it’s early and interesting features.
